Why the Term Is Unreliable
Mini facelift is a marketing category, not an anatomical description. At one practice it means a short scar lift with genuine SMAS work.
Branded names in this category, including various trademarked lifts, are almost always variations on short scar techniques. The trademark describes the marketing, not a distinct anatomical operation.
Who Each Suits
- Mini: early jowling, good skin elasticity, minimal neck finding, a patient who explicitly prefers a smaller intervention and understands the smaller result.
- Full: established midface descent, jowling with neck involvement, or a patient who wants a single comprehensive correction.
- Neither: a patient whose primary complaint is volume loss or skin texture.
